You may already be aware of the treasure trove of bargains that can be found at Ellsworth Air Force Base’s Thrift Shop, but did you know that proceeds from the store help provide numerous services to the community?
The store in and of itself provides a service to our community by not only offering some of the best shopping bargains in town, but also by allowing customers to clean out their closets and consign items in good condition. Consigners keep 70% of the proceeds from their item sales, and the remaining 30% goes into the EOSC Welfare Fund. Welfare funds are used to support numerous charities both on base and throughout the Black Hills community. (Check out our Philanthropy link to learn more.)
Now airmen E-4 and below can get up to $10 worth of FREE thrift merchandise each month. Families in need of additional assistance may inquire at the B-one Yard or Airmen and Family Readiness Center about other beneficial programs available.
Excess thrift stock is forwarded directly to Cornerstone Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army where it is shared with others in need.
